If you are TDY do not stay at the inn. Stay at the Shepp Den. It's closer to the squadron than the inn and obviously much nicer. House has a full kitchen, garage, and cleaning service so all you have to worry about is flying. Place is super clean and the owner is super early to work with in regards to DTS and making sure you never pay out of pocket. I enjoyed my time here a lot.
Would recommend for anyone going TDY to Sheppard for sure. Great house that is about as close to base as you can get without actually living there. Owner is awesome and easy to get a hold of if needed, and the professional cleaning keeps the house nice. The Sheppard Den also shows you how to set up DTS which is a help if you’re doing it for the first time like I was.
Great house less than 5 minutes away from the main gate at Sheppard. The owner makes sure everything is taken care of including cleaning the house professionally every couple of weeks, so that you only have to worry about doing well on your training. Previous owner is an IFF instructor that wants you to succeed. If you’re going TDY here for IFF, it’s a great place to stay.
I was able to stay at the TDY crashpad for a little over three months and couldn't have been any happier with my decision. The owner made the process to reserve a room quick and easy and provided info for justifying the stay with my finance office. He was in contact during my stay and was absolutely awesome to talk to. The house was more than perfect for my needs, and everything you could need was provided. The house has a large screened in porch and large yard for having BBQs, and the living area was large enough to accommodate study sessions with classmates. The house is also equipped with a washer and dryer so there is no fighting to do laundry like there is on base. There is a two car garage attached to the house, which is convenient. Each bedroom has a Roku tv with access to netflix, amazon, and cable TV. High speed wifi is also hooked up in the house and is more than capable of handling 3 people streaming video/gaming at the same time. The house sits in a nice neighborhood with easy access to the base (less than 5 minutes to AMOC and LROC) and the freeway. I highly recommend staying here!
Excellent service and location! Way better than lodging! It was nice to have a place to call home for three months. A fully stocked kitchen, garage, washer/dryer, patio/backyard for grilling and a common space to hangout. TVs in each room when you need your private time. The neighborhood is safe and the commute to base is quick! Troy is prompt with communication and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. I highly recommend staying here.
This place is incredible! Troy is an unbelievable host and will go way out of his way to make your stay an enjoyable one and the process as smooth as possible. The drive from the house was actually closer and faster to the logistics school House than the drive from the Air Force Inn was. The gate is never backed up in the morning either. Having a garage, kitchen and a couple great roommates made the months at Sheppard far more bearable and the time far better utilized than it ever could have been living in a hotel room...and all for not a dollar more. If you don’t take advantage, you’re screwing up.
EXCELLENT!! Perfect location, safe, clean, and comfortable home. Professionally cleaned every other week. Full kitchen. You cannot ask for more while TDY. Only 12 minutes from the River Creek Golf Course and about 3 minutes to base. I cannot recommend the Sheppard Den enough. Don’t hesitate and book your stay now!
Awesome play to stay while TDY! Great house and you can’t beat the location being only minutes from base. Troy is super quick at responding to any questions or house needs. Definitely recommend staying here if going TDY to Sheppard!
